Dear Parents,

Welcome to our wonderful school. I am really looking forward to another great year at Benalla 31 and I am confident that you will find that our school provides a safe, secure and vibrant learning environment. Our team of highly trained and dedicated teachers make every effort to ensure that students are challenged academically and that they develop strong and positive social skills and emotional resilience.

Over recent years our school has introduced several new initiatives to further ensure our students’ experience success and maximize their potential. Teaching Handwriting Reading and Spelling Skills (THRASS) is one such initiative that is making a positive impact on the acquisition of literacy skills for all students.

You Can Do It Education (YCDI) is our approach to teaching social and emotional well-being and ensures that students understand what it takes to be the best that they can possibly be.
Our strong focus on numeracy is also a feature that we are proud of in our school and children greatly benefit from this curriculum.

Our whole school student discipline and management plan ensures that there is a consistent approach in place, which is clearly understood by all students. This contributes to our positive learning environment and pursuit of excellence – in behaviour and student achievement.  

This booklet contains a great deal of information about our school and is designed particularly for parents who are not familiar with general school systems and procedures.  However, please do not hesitate to contact the school office if you have any other queries at all.
